The Mission International summer teams training event took place in Glasgow at the weekend (21st June 08). The teams, which are heading for India and Burundi, were present and learned lots of detail about what they are to be involved in whilst on their respective trips. Issues of location, culture, public speaking and practical involvement were all covered and much more. The atmosphere of excitement could hardly be disguised as everyone began to realise that their time of travel is fast approaching.
Who will benefit?
Mission International teams are designed to bring cultures together for their mutual benefit, it is very true that team members for the UK will carry skills and ideas to help support poor families and communities, but they will also benefit from the rich and varied cultures that they will meet, carrying home these attributes for others to share.
